Rear Anti Roll Bar Replacement

Hello Everyone

just brought a is 300 and in the service book notes it said that the rear anti roll bar is rusting.

does anyone know where i can find a the part needed that isn't a lexus genuine part. they charged me £14 for an oil filter made in china!!! got one a company called japarts.co.uk which sold one by nipparts for £3.30 made in Japan.

also is it ok to remove the heatshields from the exhaust because all the bolts are rusted and makes vibration noises.

Hello and welcome to the LOC.

If the anti roll bar is just rusty why not simply clean the rust off,apply some rust convertor ( any motor spares shop should have it) and then a couple of coats of black Hammerite paint.

If the bushes are worn they are fairly cheap and ater market ones are available at a fraction of the price of OEM.

Filter price was OTT I normally pay £10.00 including a new seal washer from Lexus, Blueprint amongst others make aftermarket ones but personally I stick to OEM.

Regarding the heat shields I have removed a couple of mine for the same reason with no obvious effects, if its just the jubilee type clips which have broken you can replace them with stainless steel ones available from DIY stores.

also, sorry to bombard you guys with loads of questions but how do you upload a pic,?

just uploaded a pic of the 2 plastic door trims that have scuffs on them, will i be only able to get these from a toyota dealer?
