Hi Guys: I have just seen on MSN a bloke in New York bought a Volvo P1800s in 1966 and he has clocked up 2,947,442 miles in it, there is a video you can watch and the car looks in Pristine condition he only drives it himself,it has been entered into theGuinnes book of records for having the longest mileage. I just hope my Ls400 can get close to that.

Slowly but surely. There was a lot of publicity when it reached 1 & 2 million miles. Volvo have offered him a large sum of money and any car from the present Volvo range but always turns it down, and good on him for not surcoming to corporate pressure.

Given time I bet there will be several LS's pushing those mileage's.

And on that note, does anyone happen to know what the highest mileage LS is currently?

I think that's come up before and you can guess where it is, yup the gold old United States of a Miracle but I cant remember what it is. Have a look on their forum ask it to search for Highest mileage.

The last I heard was a 1989 400 with over 500,000 on it from a guy in the U.S.A.

Not if Lexus continue to charge silly prices for spare parts for old cars...

Why would they change their pricing? the ls400's were £45k plus when they came out, so parts prices are that of a £45k car. Depriciation and age of a car will never be reflected in genuine part prices....

Nobody is going to convince me that a wishbone is worth £380. Or that the linkage for the headlamp height sensor is worth £70.

Perhaps on a newish car those prices would be justifiable, but on cars of this age, prices like this are sending them to the scrapyard.

Slightly off topic. I found these wishbones listed on eBay and they look better quality than other eBay items. Has anyone tried them yet?

Haha its not the thirst time ;-) I've been compared to a vampire!

Me and Lexi are night time partners plying for trade all over rainy old Warrington.

In other words I'm a night time taxi driver and I like to have a read of the forum in the down time and help if I can.

Good on you Pete. Keep them wheels rollin.

I will have a £1 or two that you will end up with the UK highest mileage car.
