Master Key Not Physically Locking/unlocking

hi , new here and need a bit of advice, i have a master key, 3 button , which does all it should i.e lock unlock doors n boot by remote and start my car .. but it doesn't work when inserted into the door locks and i try manually to lock / unlock !! anyone got one got any idea as to what might be the problem or had a similar one ? thanks in advance for any info...................

does it work manually in the boot lock? someone may have lost the original keys, got a new set but not got the barrel changed in the door. Or it may be that the lock in the door is just knackered.

hi benIS thanks for the reply, it doesn't work in the boot either, your idea seems a valid point , i will ring previous owner up and ask
