Which Oil Is Best For My 80K '93 Ls400?

Hi

It's time for it's first oil change(under my ownership) and I'd like to give it the best for it's engine so which oil do you recommend please?

I've always used Magnatec 10/40 in my LSs and nothing bad's happened as a result. Recently, Halfords were doing this at a substantial discount; might be worth checking out. Be sure to use a genuine filter though.

The manufacturer's recommended oil is 5w-30.

I've always used fully synthetic 5W-30, it used to be Havoline when Morissons sold it for around £17.00/5ltrs but since its dissappearance I use Castrol Magnatec as Cleverdick suggests.

The only down side with Magnatec is it only comes in 4 litre packs which is not enough for an oil and filter change (5.1L) so you end up buying 2 lots initially.

Also as suggested look for the special offers at Halfords.

I also use fully sythetic 5w/30 which I got from euro car parts last time. Its not exactly cheap but what price piece of mind. Also got my oil and air filters from them plus long life 5 year red anti freeze too.
