just seen Halfords advertising Castrol gtx 5-30 magnatec at half price .

Is this oil suitable for lexus LS400 engines. Thanks

There was the same offer a while ago but is this for the Fully Sythetic Magnatec 5W-30 or Castrol GTX as the two are different types?

If it is Magnatec yes it is good for the Lexus engines, I did contact Castrol to confirm it was suitable.

Are there any details anywhere on how to change the oil on a Mk3? - ie where is the sump plug, filter, how much oil needed etc?

Is it necessary to have a new sump plug gasket?

Oil capacity as from the manual 5.6 litre. sump plug should be under engine maybe near trans plug dont mixe them up.i allways go with the one nearest the front of car .BUT CHECK.
