Ecu Is Faulty

Hi all,

My Lexus IS200 '03 won't start after a new Battery was fitted, the mechanic says its an electrical fault so I call an auto electrician out, he thinks it's the ECU for two reasons, 1, the engine light on the dash just flickers, it's not on nor off, just flickers and 2, when he connected his diagnostics machine to the car, he could see all the devices except the ECU.

My question is two fold, is this a fair explanation of the fault and what advice can you give me on what to do next as it sounds expensive?

Thanks in advance

Steve

Check the ecu for any water damage it's in a black box to the right of the engine, if no joy there i'd have the ecu tested for any faults by a company specialising in ecu's.

Personally i'd just buy a second hand unit from e bay.

Good luck and keep us posted. :phone:
