Key Less Entry Unlocks Is 250 Three Times.

Hi,

I've had my 2005 IS 250 SE for a few weeks now and everything has been fine, I love it! However, ever since yesterday it seems to have developed an odd problem.

If I unlock it using the button on the FOB, the indicator lights flash twice and the doors unlock as expected but if I keep the FOB in my pocket and grasp the door handle (drivers or passengers) the indicators flash six times and I can hear it unlocking the doors 3 times. It is actually unlocked after the first "unlock" but suddenly insists on unlocking them an unnecessary extra two times...

Anyone got any idea what could be causing this and/or how to address it?

I've got a years full warranty so could take it to the dealer to fix but I'd prefer to sort it myself if it's straightforward enough.

Hi,

My IS 250 has recently started doing a similar thing. Unfortunately I have found the problem to be the central locking is not unlocking the rear offside door, so it looks like it has to go to the dealer (again).

I imagine Manctim has a similar problem. It detects a door doesn't unlock so it retries a couple more times.

Oddly, my car seems to have cured itself and the door has now started working properly again. No idea why, but presumably something in the door mechanism is sticking occasionally. Not sure whether to mention it to the dealer when it goes for the next service (shortly) as I can't demonstrate the problem and they're bound to charge for taking a look at the door as it's 'working properly' at the moment. More 'legendary build quality'....

ColinBarker is correct, the same rear offside door as Thorium is indeed not unlocking or locking with the central locking. Took it back to the dealer last week and they are fixing it on Wednesday.

It's odd though that extra unlocking attempts only occur when using keyless entry though - using the button on the FOB only unlocks the doors once (or rather doesn't try to unlock the faulty door multiple times).
