Gs 300 Gear Changing Problems

Ive been having this problem for about 9 months now. First the car wouldnt crank unless i unhooked the leftside of the battery/doors wouldnt lock. It was like the car didnt know the keys anymore. Then it wouldnt go into first gear all the time. Sometimes it would and most time it wouldnt. Took everywhere!! Lexus place told me i need a new computer, sent it in and they said nothing was wrong with my computer, Lexus place said i need a new transmission, got a new one and it still does the same thing. NOW Battery went dead from sitting and when i got a new one the car would crank fine but it still want change gears like it should. Its only the first gear, once it gets pass the first gear it works just fine. In the morning when the car is cold it changes but once it warms up it doesnt work at all. Get to stop light i have to cut car off and cut back on to get the gears to change. Hooked it up dont get any numbers to come up. Does this sound like anything electrical, fuse, somthing please! Ive taken it to transmission specialist, lexus dealers, handyman, anybody that would look at it and they have no clue whats wrong.

Not heard of that before. My old mk2 GS300 Sport used to be reluctant to change properly when cold (I think it is a deliberate thing that stops overdrive gear working when cold or something), but not heard of what you are saying. Having said that, I'm not entirely sure what you are saying. Do you mean it stays in 1st gear and wont change to 2nd? or 1st gear isn't working at all and it uses 2nd gear all the time?

If the gearbox has been changed, that certainly would count that out unless you were very unlucky. My first suspect would be the adjustment of the gear linkage.
