Hi, I've just bought an 2003 IS200 sportcross and just wanted to know a few things please,

firstly is the sportcross sport spec ? with lsd etc ? as the only specs I can see on parkers car guide is sportcross 2.0 and sportcross 2.0 Navigator

Secondly are aftermarket parts the same for the sportcross and the saloon IE: exhaust's, coilovers etc ?

Haters gonna hate, recon the term chav is thrown around far to losely nowadays, used to mean lairy little common as muck little runts with tracksuits and socks and baseball caps, then got used to discribe maxpower type cars now's just thrown around for anything that is disliked, stardard is boring to me I like low cars on wide fitting wheels, it may not be to your taste but its far from chav.

Nice welcome by the way

Welcome to the LOC.

Sorry I don't know much about springs and mods but if you need part numbers I can look them up for you.

The guys to advise with heavily modified IS models are Ormi and Sparkstav I think they both run supercharged IS200s.

No doubt they will chip in soon with some answers for you along with other owners.

hya & welcome to lexus & the sportX world , ,love mine & didn't take me long to pop some 18's on , , but slamming it like the pics is a one way street , , no return , ,itl look terrible ,cost you money & render the car worthless IMO, , , each to there own though so enjoy the car & the forum ,

had a caliper replaced on my 300 Sx & they are the same as saloon 200,s , no reason to think much of the other suspension & running gear won,t be the same

cheers for welcome and the info but I strongly dissagree how is it a one way street ? its totally reversable !

how do low cars look terrible ? all race cars are low, super cars are low and they look fantastic not to mention all sport versions of car marques tend to have lowered suspension compared to the standard model, I've lowered lots of cars and they handle better (once you get the correct alignment) admitedly as low as I want to go is a bit more form over function and yep it'll be a bit more of a bitch to drive on the road but meh I can live with it as the car will probably see one or two drift days where having a low car is definately a benefit, so for that reason alone it'll be worth it, plus coilovers are adjustable so it doesn't have to be kept silly low all the time.

I certainly won't devalue the car I'll just limit my resale market but in the modifying and drifting ''scene'' (which is what im in to) people will pay more for a car with some decent choice mod's and low cars are popular, I got the car for a good price anyway and I plan on keeping it for a while so Im not massively fussed aboute resale right now :-)

I didn't 100% intend to buy this car, I was just looking for an estate car that was comfy and I could also use for work, this came up on eBay, I expected it to go for a lot more than I was prepared to bid but I won it and Im now very happy that I did, fair do's its not that fast but I'd rather it be a little slower and manual than a faster auto, never know if I keep the car long enough it could end up with an engine swap.
