Given that I have to have a spare at least for my trip into Europe I thought I might upgrade at least the headlights to Phillips x-treme's. But what I need to know is what bulbs the LS takes?

If anyone has a definative list on the types of bulbs the car has all over that would be amazing but every little helps!

If you have the drivers handbook the complete list is in there.

But headlight bulbs are H4 type 55/60W

Foglights H3

Parking/sidelights wedge bulbs

indicator bulbs/reversing bulbs 21W single end

Stop/ Tail 5W/ 21W double end

Steve - you are fast becoming invaluable! Thanks!

I'll check the handbook too! Cheers!

If I were to buy LED stop/tail or sidelights would I get a bulb fault warning? Do I need canbus compatible ones?

Posted

Front side lights should be fine as the bulb out monitoring system only watches the stop and tail lamps, not sure about the CANBus ones and fitting ballast resistors to standard LEDs is a PITA.

I bought some of the later SMD wedge bulbs for the sidelights, very good and bright enough to drive into a dark garage without needing the headlights on!
