I see the lateral damping system is only available as an option on the SE-L Premier. Does it give a smoother ride? Is it worth the extra cost? I wonder why it is not available on the SE-I and SE-L, it's not as if it would be difficuilt for Lexus to make it an option. Odd.

Dunno what the difference is but there's more information about retrofitting them on the CT200h forum :

http://www.ct200hforum.com/forum/lexus-ct200h-wheels-tires-suspension/118109-ordered-original-stabilizer-bars.html

Usual thing applies though ... It's something for at least a few years time when the warranty has expired.

Difference between damper/no-damper - unless you drive two CTs with the different specs on the same roads/conditions in a blind test, I doubt whether we'll get much in the way of impartial data there ... Placebo effect* will blur the results too much. I'm hoping they'd help a bit with quietness and vibration but I doubt whether they'd help handling as that's already pretty awesome.

*(if you pay more for something, you unconsciously expect it to be better even if it ends up just the same - see my opinion on super unleaded fuel :D )

Hi I recently purchased a CT and would be very interested in fitting the lateral dampers. Does anyone know what Lexus would charge for these.

£334.37 Supplied and fitted

"This front and rear lateral damping system is designed to absorb and minimise undesirable vibrations, offer more linear steering feel and further improve ride comfort"

Part Number PZ492-20PK1-00

Just making sure - is this regular price or discounted? The part number is for the set (front and rear) of dumpers?

Does it make a big difference in car's handling?

Hi Pidu

This is the UK dealer RRP, part number is for both items fitted (F+R)

To be honest it would be just like the difference of 16" alloys and 17" on a CT, small but there.

Just for accuracy - these are not shock absorbers but x-braces which span shock tower to shock tower.

Unless you love speed around corners ( not something I relate a CT to ), then I wouldn't bother with wasting £300+ of hard earned cash. Use it to add a spare wheel and trim - better investment.
