I have just picked up my IS200 from the garage and they were unable to do the tracking on it as he couldn't loosen the locking nuts on the tie rod assembly.

He tried everything but no success so I need to get the inner tie rod and tie rod end for the front left, I'm assuming I should do the front right as I'm at it?

My question is, is it difficult to change the inner tie rod? any special tools needed? I have an oxy torch if all else fails :hehe:

I have changed tie rod ends before but never an inner tie rod.

Thanks for any help

use heat and the lock nuts will come loose...just clean the threads and once hot the nut should move

The mechanic told me he tried this and couldn't free it, a mate of mine owns a garage that specialize in wheel alignment so I'll take it to him before I go burning a hole in my wallet on parts I mightn't need. He's 50 miles away but if it saves me some €€€ I don't mind.

Thanks ormi
