Hi

I have recently upgraded my old Iphone 3GS to iOS 5 and just purchased an Iphone 4S. Both phones connect to the cars Bluetooth without any problems, BUT when a phone call comes in, the car will not reconise the name of the person calling from my phone book. Only their number comes up. Now i have worked out that this is because the car has imported my phones contacts with the +44 country code in front as it has always done. However, when the phone call comes through to the car, the number that comes up is the phone number without the +44 in front and as a result it doesnt tally up with the cars phone book, which is really annoying. One way around this is to remove the +44 from all of the cars contacts but this is very time consuming and annoying as there were no problems previously.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi Francis, have you uploaded your address book into the car ? That might solve the problem ?

I have to admit I get very intermittent results when using my Iphone 4 with the systems in the car.

The Blutooth regularly disconnects itself and then reconnects. When I plug the phone into the USB the car system cant always see the phone. The Iphone doesn't like the USB connection and doesn't recognise the car system, I'm wondering if there is an Ap that would sort it ?

I re-booted the phone (at your suggestion). That sort of sorted the problem, but its still just so intermittent.

Hi Thank you for your reply

I tried re uploading my phone book but that didn't solve the problem unfortunately. Someone has suggested on the club Lexus forum that it is due to he international assist option, which makes sense but then disabling it made no difference. In the end i just removed the +44 from the front of my numbers on my phone and it all works fine now.

I haven't noticed any intermittent dropping of connection, but then I don't usually use my phone to play music. I leave an old ipod in t he armrest plugged in via USB. On the odd occasion when I have used my phone via USB to play music, it seems to work fine though.

Maybe there is/will be a software update from Lexus to address these issues?

How do you upload from the Iphone to the car? I've never managed it and have just manually put it the most frequently used numbers into the speed dial.

Many thanks

What year is you IS? Our 2007 model will not upload all of the contacts from my Iphone all at once, but our 2010 model will. I think the Iphone was better supported when the updated system was installed in 2009 with the HDD sat nav IIRC

Mine is an 07 model, so I guess that answers the question. Thanks for the reply though.
