Auto Dipping Mirrors

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks

I have had my new IS 250 advance for a couple of weeks now, on the 250 sport I had on loan for a week, when selecting reverse the external mirrors auto dipped, which I found very useful.

The handbook says if the rocker switch to adjust the mirrors is left activated this should work.

This doesn't work and the handbook doesn't say on selected models only.

Any help would be apreciated.

If the mirror switch is set to either the left or right the mirrors should dip when reverse is selected

Thanks for the reply "gordi"

I have done as you say but no luck, I wonder if because it's a limited edition model some thing aren't activated. the handbook just apears to be for a SE-I model and not specific for the Advance.

Im pretty sure the 'auto dipping' function only comes on models which have the memory package (memory seats, mirrors and steering wheel column). These models would be all SE-L's, Pre 2011 F - Sports and the original Sport model... Oh and the ISF!

Thanks for the imfo. F.A.

You would have thought they would have made it clear about this in the handbook, it's a pity, I liked this function, also on the model I had on loan the mirrors folded in on locking the doors instead of doing it manually before switching off.

Thanks again F.A. I will just have to live with it, the super auto box makes up for anything it's brill.

I'm not sure if the auto folding mirrors are on all the post 09 models but it may be worth looking in the menu accessable using the satellite button to the right of the steering wheel as it can be enabled and disabled from there. (the menu where you can also turn the parking assist on and off and set the speed limiter)

I have tried the satellite button but the option isn't there so I will just have to live with it.

You would think they could produce a handbook for each model, it wouldn't cost that much, as it is it in US speak, it's all hoods trunks moonroof etc.

Thanks again for your input F.A.

Cheers DJ
