hi all

new member here. decided to join after reading some posts. guys here (and some gals as well) seem well informed and knowledgable so thought i'd get some advise from you guys.

IS200 2002

here's my problem.....i lost my master key and i got a replacement from the main dealer. i now need to get this 'married' to the car. i have so far got conflicting information from various sources. some say the master key CAN be programmed to the car and some say that i will need to get a new ECU and then the new key can be programmed. can anyone here clear this up for me. how does the key get programmed? also, where is the ECU located?

thanks in advance

got the key programmed and the car now starts and runs. the auto locksmith pulled out the ECU and fitted another chip then programmed the key. however, i'm having some trouble in programming the key to remotely lock/unlock the doors/boot.

could anyone shed some light on this for me

many thanks
