Hi, I'm just wondering is there a big difference in fuel usage with a Supercharged IS200 over a standard.

Im considering getting a charger, but not if the mpg difference is too drastic.

The MPG is a little bit worse, but it really depends on how you drive your car.

I've modified my Supercharger setup so that it now works with the magnetic clutch reinstated, so I might get a better MPG figure than the other charged guys.

On my last long run up to Scotland I got 34MPG average, which I thought was pretty good. I think the lowest I've ever got on combined driving was about 22-23 MPG.

Is that a hard modification to do?

And how is the performance now compared to standard, 1st and 2nd gear pull nice for me, just wondered is this boosted more with a supercharger.

i get around 220 miles to a full tank of vpower thats town driving but on a long run i find with the charger i get better mpg than i did before i had the charger....

Is it needed to be ran on 97 octane fuel? I probably only get around 280 per tank around town, if im driving nice!

Your take off seems quick, looks like you reach 60 in around 6 secs..

Souinds amazing!

just out of interest, how have people with turbo setups found the MPG? A friend of mine running the old supra engine of the same family (I think?) said he saw 5-6% better mpg after lowering the compression ratio slightly and boosting it.

Maybe not really necessary but when TTE fitted my kit a little '98 unleaded' sticker appeared on the inside of the fuel flap door.

Perhaps a bad example as my car doesn't get thrashed much by this ageing driver. :driving:

Does now only get fed Vpower though and I have no complaints about consumption.

If anything it's better now. Hopefully a nice clean engine too. :lookaround:
