Electronic Steering Module

Recommended Posts

Model IS220d 2006 with 35,000kM.

No modifications, full service history, no bumps or marks on alloys

Just short of its fifth birthday, steering suddenly died, luckly in light traffic very difficult to steer into a safe position, if the wife had been driving, she would not have had the strength to get the car to a safe stop.

Drove the car to the lexus garage where it was bought, technican confirmed that the module was the problem, cost to repair 1200 euro !!!!

Any advice, how often has this happened ?

What do the members think.

Have a call into the Customer Service hope to get some goodwill towards the repair.

To follow up:

Got a 50% reduction in the replacement steering rack, job done including labour and VAT for 807 euro.

Still think that for the steering rack to fail after 35,000km (approx 22,000Ml) is a very poor showing, even after 5 years.

But I've got my baby back, happy days.

Took a look at the CT 200 while in the showroom, looks very good.
