Mk1 Gs300 Stereo - Rca's?

Hi All,

Can anyone help. The rear sub has gone and I'm looking to upgrade with an aftermarket box/tube which requires power and RCA's

Does the Mk1 GS300 (P Plate) have RCA's out of the original headunit?

I can't find any posts relating to RCA's and no photos!!!

If you mean does the headunit have RCA jacks on the back, then the answer is unfortunately not. They are line level outputs (no idea if they are the same line levels that would normally be expected on RCAs though), they are on a multiway plug though.

The amp that runs the sub and normal speakers is located below the cd changer in the boot, so if the sub only has failed, it may be worth checking the connections to the sub (as the amp also runs the other speakers and they are still working). The power to the amp is on a 40 amp fuse if I remember correctly, so you may be able to grab power from there in the boot.

Thanks for the reply. Ok so no RCA's.

If I can take a power feed from the AMP to run the new amp (Say 100 or 200w RMS), that saves running power cables down the length of the car.

I'm hoping I can take a speaker feed into the new amp (As an RCA substitute), and in fact looking at the figures @ 12v, Max power looks like 480w!

Do you know what the amp power output is?

If the power and signal is there, the job is made easier! Sorry for the rambling, just thinking out loud!

No idea what the amp kicks out mate. I have mine laying around in the garage, I'll take a look later and see if the specs are on a label on it.
