Lexus Service Records

Does anybody know if Lexus dealerships keep records of vehicle servicing? I've very recently bought one with no service history, but am convinced there will be one out there somewhere knowing that my car was previously owned by a lease company. The place I bought it from said that they had tried to trace the service history, but unlike Audi, BMW and Merc, Lexus don't keep a national database of service history. I would have thought that if Lexus were competing in that market they would have similar facilities.

Have you tried contacting the lease company? Were they the only previous owner?

Hello,

The quick answer is yes they do.

I have a replacement service book for my car and every service, with date, mileage and dealership has been written in.

Your local dealer should be able to point you in the right direction. This assumes that the car was serviced at a Lexus dealer but I would have thought that a lease car would have been to help with the residual value.

  • 2 weeks later...

I managed to winkle out of the main dealer I bought my pre owned RX from every service bill they had issued to the previous owner, they even provided me with her credit card details on one piece of paperwork :whistling: needless to say I got in touch with the previous owner and mentioned the fact and also that I assured her I had shredded the offending paperwork!

But yes, a main dealer will have all the previous billing records on file.....or at least they should have.
