Perhaps we should patent the idea.....

String up spiders and their webs in front of your car, and at the end of a long journey - they've eaten all the bugs and you can brush them back into a box until next required!

My jet wash gets most of the little buggers off.

I use a standard sponge inside one of those washing up net things - works fairly well, but does still require some brisk hand movements! :D

Believe it or not, the Government takes this problem of bug-kill on cars very seriously, and is taking steps to address the problem....

1) Their intergrated transport policy will ensure that by 2010, congestion in the UK will be so bad that the flies will be travelling faster than the cars. (They are already piloting this scheme in Sussex!)

2) By encouraging local councils to continue re-surfacing roads by simply spraying hot tar and then scattering tons of gravel, the proliferation of stone-chips will ensure that the few bugs that do get squished, don't stand out amongst all the other pock marks.
