I'm looking to buy a MK3, and saw this eBay auction...

Isn't late 1999 T-reg too late for a MK3, the MK4 came in on 1998?

Could it be a ringer?

It Looks like an Import - Celsior

Check out the rear seat arm rest it has extra function display unit

The floor mats look original and if an import will have Celsior written on them,one or two of the controls will be in Japanese,there should be no EGR system fitted and also mileage could be in KMs.

Ask the seller for an under bonnet picture to see if it says Lexus or Toyota on the plenum chamber.

As benfur says looks like an import due to the audio controls on the rear armrest, Has a lexus steering wheel not toyota, so doesn't seem to be jap, may be South African, Austrailian or from Cyprus.

This is sometimes the case with vehicles coming from Cyprus if they are imported through Ireland I think.

According to DVLA, this car was manufactured in 1996, and first registered in 1999. I know that Lexus still had a stock of mark threes when they started to sell the mark 4, but this does seem to be a long time on.

I sent the seller a message regarding the T plate and although curt the reply was "It's an import" not particularly helpful as we suspected that already but no expansion on where it came from and when,given the response I wouldn't even consider buying it.
