Hello, just joined so I have a question, I've just bought a 2006 IS 220D, I LOVE IT! it's a 'sport' model and has everything including satnav and parking sensors etc etc, i've checked eveything works and with the exception of the drivers door mirror it does, the problem is intermitant sometimes it doesn't move up or down but yet always will move side to side, i'm assuming it's a loose connection? anyone any ideas? how do i remove the glass to get to the wiring? i went to my local Lexus dealer but they said i'd need a new mirror at £350!

I think its more likely to be mirrow motor corroding due to lack of movement, they need to be moved regular to stop this happening, just sit in car and try moving them and see if you can start them going once they move it will start to clean the motor shafts and then get them moving a few times, if this dont work i think its a mirrow strip down to get to motor and i ant done one on a lexus only on my old granny and i had to brake glass to get at motor to use wd40, but as yours works sometimes! you may get lucky and free it up by keep trying to adjust
