Hi and welcome to the LOC.

I have never heard of the problem you describe affecting any Lexus model,if there is water damage it should only affect part of the wiring loom and does not require the whole lot to be replaced, what do you know about the cars history?Has it been involved in a flood? Is it not still under warranty? Is it causing any running problems?

If it is a UK specification model Lexus should be able to locate the service history, can you contact the previous owner?

Seems strange a 3 year old Lexus ends up at an auction sale and not on the dealers used forecourt, have you done an HPI check as this sounds like an insurance write off!

I would request more detailed information regarding this loom problem and then see an independent auto electrician to confirm the diagnosis.

The service/MOT price also seems excessive even at Lexus prices

Sorry there are more questions than answers but this is a 1st for me.
