Is200- Petrol Flap Locked

don't think u can access it from the boot, i had the same issue on my 200, I had someone pull the lever inside while I opened it with a credit card in the gap (an old card incase it snapped lol)

then I checked the lock and spring inside to make sure they were ok, make sure the spring is seated correctly, ie both sides, and if it is, make the spring springier, once it is springier you may find the flap doesn't sit flush, if this is the case, the "lining" around the inner fuel cap is fairly flexible, so where the catch is, push it inwards slightly and it should sit flush then

Do you mean it doesn't release from the lever by the drivers seat? or not from the little pull cord in the boot either - assuming that pull cord exists on an IS? If the worst comes to the worst, you should be able to get to the actuator by removing the boot liner from that side and twisting the actuator to remove it.

Thanks Rory, folowed above and flap popped open.adjuted spring as necessary and now appears to open via release mechanism. Can now fill up and head to Newcastle on full tank tomorrow and use credit card trick as required.PS I have a scarlatti red IS200 which no doubt like yours gets many admiring glances as a result of rarity and gleaming codition.Great start to my LOC.Saves a bill at Lexus dealer. Thanks for the timely response.
