Hi i have just recently picked up my first Lexus/ GS300, its a 1996, its all fine except the cd changer.. when ive put all the discs in and pushed the cartridge into the changer it loads the comes up with ERR on the screen.. :excl: :excl:

ive read the manual it says its possably the sec code, i then called the previous owner and he says no it was working fine with me and there was no code.. so now im baffled, if i cant fix it ill have to look for a new head unit!! :tomato:

Hope someone can help... :winky:

Are the discs the right way round in the cartridge? Not used mine for a long time (as i removed it) but from what i remember they dont go the way up you expect.

It can also have problems reading cdr's, are they all genuine original cd's just to check?

Definately not the security code, that comes up when you power on after a Battery disconnect. In normal use, it just flashes up "SEC" when you turn the stereo on to show that a code has been set.
