hi there im a new member and i am having abit of trouble with my insurance company insisting my car has a cat 1 alarm.the car already has an alarm fitted and it seems to be a lexus one ,my question is did lexus fit factory fitted alarms on a 1997 mk 1 gs300 as im being told they did not thanks.

I owned a late '96 GS300 Sport for 6 years and it certainly had an alarm fitted which was factory fit as far as I am aware. Whether this was just an addition on the Sport I don't know. Contact Lexus who should be able to give you more info. Either your local dealer or Lexus GB helpline.

My 96 Sport also has a factory alarm/immobiliser. There is a small red light on the lower trim of the dash (next to the brightness control knob) which shows the status of the system. If the red light is there on yours, and it flashes when the key is removed, them yours has it too.
