Just wondering if it is possible to increase the angle of the dip when reverse is selected. I sit quite low and am not very tall, so my normal side mirror position means that when reverse is selected, the side mirrors do not quite dip enough.

hi

as far as i can tell, when the mirrors dip they move to the lowest angle possible anyway. at least, that's what mine do.

Thanks for your reply. That does makes sense but they dont seem to do that on mine. They can still be adjusted to move down further when in reverse which is what I have to do at the moment.

Does anyone think this can be adjusted or do you think its a fault with both of the mirrors?

I had the NS mirror replaced when car was 3 months old and just had the OS mirror replaced b4 warranty expired because of this exact problem. Hope you have a warranty , as I saw the invoice for the first one and think cost was bout £400. :tomato:

Thanks for your reply. Just been outside and reset my memory for the mirror position and everything seems to be working fine now! I do have the extended warrenty though just incase!!

you go to reverse, mirrors go down and now you can set them as you wish to have and when you go next time to reverse, they will go exactly to that position

Hi, I'm not sure if that's quite correct, unless I did something wrong. I thought this was naturally the way it should work, but if you lower the side mirrors when in reverse they go back in a lower position when you change to a forward gear.

I haven't worked out a way of doing this yet

Should there be a delay feature on this, so that the mirrors don't keep dipping when carrying out small manoeuvres, or do the mirrors just dip instantly when put in to reverse like mine does?

Ouch! Mine failed yesterday. I've only had the car for a few days. It's going in to have the creaky dashboard looked at in a couple of weeks - I hope I don't have a long list for them by then!

How do you reset the memory for the mirrors? I need to do this as well.

I just simply repositioned the mirrors and saved the settings

Did you repositioned it in Drive or Reverse position? I seem to remember if I adjust the mirror position when its tilted in reverse it comes back lower when I switch to Drive...

How do you "save" the settings?

Same as seat memory. You press and hold any of the 1 2 3 button on the door and press set.

So the mirror position in reverse is dependant on the seat position then.

Edited to add "how do you add single quote to a post?"

Yes. Each present (1, 2 & 3) has its own seat, mirror and steering wheel position

That does not seem to work on tne RX400h. The memory switches are disabled when the car is in gear.
