Engine Management Light

Recommended Posts

hi all, im new to the forum and ive a strange problem with my engine management. ive just had the cambelt changed and it was done as a foreigner by a qualified lexus mechanic. the timing is spot on and after it was done i drove the car approx 50miles and it was sweet as a nut. the next time it was started i drove approx 3 miles and the management light came on. it was plugged in and it came up with a valve timing issue. it was reset and the car was drove for approx sixty miles without any probs at all. The following day i was 5 miles down the road and the light came on again. Any ideas anyone? many thanks

Maybe (but not deffo) an Oxygen sensor....you will need to get another code if it is, watch out though as on mine, the art of diagnosing which sensor needed changing produced different results by different dealers (Light came on on my 'ollys, and they diagnosed a different sensor to my local dealer)If it is an oxy sensor, you can drive but possibly MPG will dive. No doubt others may speculate....I take a lit up piccy of an engine staring me in the face seriously though...!
