Brake System Warning Light

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure which one the brake system warning light is, are you talking about the one that comes on to tell you your pads need replacing?

Or are you looking at the light that tells you a bulb is out?

Thanks, know which one you're talking about now. Are all three brake lights working, including the high level one in the rear window?

I beleive so,the car is in my local garage getting some minor bodywork done so im trying to kill two birds with 1 stone, apart from the brake light being blown what are the other causes, thanks

If the brake fluid is fine and the lights are all working I'm not sure to be honest, a light out is the most common cause of that warning light coming on. Hopefully someone else might be able to shed more light on it.

Firstly please turn off your CAPS LOCK, no need to shout we can all hear you clearly. :D

Secondly welcome to the LOC.

Finally you say you have checked your brake pads but have you checked the pad wear sensors? Even though they may look OK they can fail.

If you have a test meter you can measure them on resistance and they should measure short circuit if working correctly.

I know you have replaced all the bulbs but have you had someone press the brake pedal while you stand at the back and check they are all actually working?
