Well, after ages trying to make up my mind, i pick up a silver (57) is250, se-l, mm, on monday, cant wait. Mpg will be a bit of a shock after having a 320d, but the refinement will make up for that i hope.

I also hope that lexus live up to the reputation regarding customer service, as bmw was crap.

Also, a couple of the wheels had some corrosion, the dealer said once the car is in my name i can get them done under warranty, do lexus relace them without to much fuss.

They should do. Ours were replaced when the car went in for a service with out me even mentioning it to them.

Hi, Just make sure your car is still under 3yrs old as the lexus warrenty for the wheels are only 3yrs. cos u be sick if they just out of warrenty and you are looking around £300 each new. Unless you've agreed it with dealer, my advise confirm with dealer and have it in writing on your deposit or something. Customer service is better than than most but like all business the dealer is there to make money and they won't pay for mistake unless you can clearly prove is their fault. As for the car, I've had mine at 06 and I still look forward to driving it so I think you will enjoy your new car.

I bought a 2007 IS250 in Aug 2009 and had the wheels replaced "before" picking it up. 8 months later and I am getting another full set put on this month (May 2010) under warranty. I really looked after them too with weekly cleaning and wax but still they have started to corrode, hence the replacements. Shocking really that they can't cope with one severe winter.

Well i picked it up on saturday and after 180 miles so far, ive got a tank average of just over 40mpg, so im well happy with that. I got about 5 miles up the road though and the check, VSC light, and engine man light came on, and there was no one in the workshop to have a look, so ill take it into the local dealer this week to get it sorted, i realy hope it's nothing to bad, not good though, and just a result of the rolling road, for the brake test for the mot.

It's so quiet and smooth after a 2.0d. One question though, when i got it home and had a look underneath at the rear, although the exhaust is supposed to be ss, it has rust on the surface, is that normal?.

Fuel light has come on today, and the trip said 415 miles, im well impressed with that, tank average said 37.8 mpg i think. Out of interest, the vented seats are not as good as i thought they would be, with almost nothing from the back rest, is that normal?.

Its a great car, and i dont know why i left it so long, i dont miss the BMW one bit.

It's got rust on the surface because the standard fitting is not stainless steel. If you want a stainless steel system you will need to purchase a non OEM one.

Is that mpg motorway or around town? Be interested to know as have been considering a 220d and will mainly be used on the school/supermarket run. Going from an RX which is returning 18.8 but the official for the IS250 is 20-21mpg

I would say 70% m-way and the rest around town, but not sat in any traffic for a period of time. My BMW 320d was around 41-42 mpg, so not a massive diff, that will go down if i sit in traffic a bit more though, but still good. I've taken it easy as well to see what i could get out of a tank.

The official figures from Lexus for combined motorway/urban is 31.7mpg for the auto, 29.1 mpg for the 250 manual, and 24.8 mpg for the IS-F.

Im a bit confused with the recirculation button on the heating, if i press it to outside air, then turn off the ignition and come back to the car later and swith it on again it goes to recirculation again and i have to press the button to outside air again. Am i doing something wrong or is that normal?.

Put some fuel in today and ive been mostly around town with some duel carriageway, and the tank ave is 32mpg, still not to bad.
