New Alloys (project Diary)

Recommended Posts

Right then guys heres a little project diary of what me and a few mates have been up to and are currently still up to (night off tonight tho to let the paint harden)

I picked these alloys up off a mate about 2 weeks ago for a bargain price of £40 as he just wanted them out of his garage to clear space. The one of them was white as he was goin to put them on his accord tyre R but then didnt do the others as he got a different set of alloys

So first things first was stripping the white off them and seeing what we actually had to work with

Then came the sanding to get the finish right on them and ready for painting

First one finished

And back to more sanding

My mate alyn looking very happy considering it was about 3am at this point

Getting there

This is what we had to work with once all sanded

We then got primering. This was my job as the boys seemed a little scared of the spray can as they werent thier alloys

IMG00212-20100315-2150.jpg

Then time for some colour. I know this is not going to be to everyones taste but my car is going drift and ive never seen a normal looking drift car

We then decided they were too boring so........

We splatted them all with red paint to see what happened. Definately livens them up and actually looks quite funky. I love them!!

All thats left to do now is laquer them and get some rubber on them

Now like i said they will not be to everyones taste but i am quite happy to take opinions/abuse

What's with the weird red paint? Do like those alloys, especially with the polished face - I think they actually fit the IS200 but not sure if the design will suit it, look forward to seeing them on the car :)

To be honest the red paint was just a wild idea. We were going to do red handprints but it didnt look like a hand because there wasnt a space big enough on the wheel due to the style of it

I have no idea how these would look on the cra but we will find out soon enough. I will defo get pics up on here as soon as they are on (if they fit)

Oh and they are 17 x 7.5J ormi

Sorry guys i was hoping to have these on the car by now. had a bit of a set back tho!! :tsktsk: :tsktsk:

The bolts holding my hub to the car have completely sheared off inside the hub so at the moment my car is on axle stands and im awaiting delivery of new bolts. hopefully tomorrow

Im just lucky that it is duel wishbone so the top wishbone kept the wheel just about on the car

Thanks mate. Hopefully on the car by the end of the week. To be honest i have been refurbing mates alloys and repairing dents for them etc that i havent had time to do anythin at all for myself other than sleep haha

Ive decided to teach myself how to refurb alloys and do bodywork by the way

My mates alloys for his civic. Really curbed when we picked them up but managed to sort them out as best we can and sprayed them white

A wall decided to jump out on my mate the other day and he dented the rear quarter on his car. This is the first time i've ever done bodywork of any sort so thought he was a brave man letting me have a go

Its nowhere near finished yet as we need to get some finer sandpaper but just thought id share a couple of pics as im really happy for my first attempt
