Water Leak – Driver’s Side A Pillar Interior

Recommended Posts

In the last week I have noticed water dripping down the drivers side a pillar.

It looks like the water is starting to come in at the top of the a pillar where the interior a pillar cover joins the roof lining and the water then drips down.

I have pulled the a pillar cover off and pulled the door rubber off and had a look around the area but I can’t see how the water is getting in.

When I removed the a pillar cover I noticed a tube that comes from the roof down the a pillar, I guess this is a drainage pipe?.

Does anyone have any knowledge of such a leak or have any ideas?

Thanks.

Ian.

check your sunroof drainage? open sunroof and tip water down the drainage pipe to see if it is blocked up

Turned out to be the drainage pipe had come off where it connects to the sunroof drainage hole.

Managed to get it back on with out completly removing the roof liner but it was pretty tricky.

This might be a long shot as this post was 2010,im having same problem.

I have poured water down and it does drain but pillar still gets slightly damp when it rains.

I was thinking of getting a length of tube and and feeding it as far as it will go to bypass where its leaking

is it easy to get pillar cover off to see where damage is?

I don't really want to start ripping interior out

I know this was a while ago, but I have the same problem and suspect that the pipe has come away at the same point. Can I ask how you fixed it? I really don't want to start dismantling the headliner etc.
