Further New Key Help Needed :(

Remote Programming

1. Close and lock all doors. Unlock and open drivers door.

2. Put key into ignition and remove. Do not turn it on.

3. Using the electric lock switch. Lock and unlock 5 times. (Lock, Unlock, Lock, Unlock, Lock, Unlock, Lock, Unlock, Lock, Unlock)

4. Close and open drivers door.

5. Using the electric lock switch. Lock and unlock 5 times. (Lock, Unlock, Lock, Unlock, Lock, Unlock, Lock, Unlock, Lock, Unlock)

6. Put key into ignition. Turn to "ON" , turn off and remove.

7. You will see the door locks cycle by themselves.

If the door locks do not cycle (lock and unlock) by themselves then the car isn’t in programming mode and you must start over.

8. On the remote, press and hold the LOCK and the UNLOCK button at the same time for no more than 2 seconds.

9. On the remote, press the LOCK button for no more than 1 second.

AT THIS POINT, the locks should cycle by themselves ONE time. This means the procedure was accepted.

IF the locks cycle twice it has failed.

The most common reason for programming failure is because the car didn’t receive a good signal from the remote. To fix this problem try these tips. 1) Stand outside of the car while you are performing steps 8 and 9. 2) Don’t hold the remote buttons down as long.

As long as the car is still in programming mode you can keep trying steps 8 and 9 until you complete the programming. If you wait too long and the car exits the programming mode then you must start over.

After you get the remote to program then continue on with step 10.

10. Close and open door to end programming procedure.

just got a new key and fresh transponder.

i tried the first method and cant get it to lock and unlock to say its accepted.

So i tried the method above, i can get it to item 7. but it just locks and unlocks once? i try pressing unlock and lock then lock but it doesnt do anything?

as soon as i remove the key and it does that one cycle the secuity light just flashes like normal? should it still be flashing fast when doing 8. and 9.?

done it about 50 times already argh!

also cant get any immobiliser ones to work at all sad.gif

can anyone help

there seems to be a few ways to do this.. not sure what one works for year of car but if you dont get it to work let me know, if you have a spare key to use then you can send me one working one and i do it at work for you.... but im in sweden so it will take a few days each way in the post..

worked first time for the remote unlocking with the new transponder, it does appear to be different to the one sent originally,

and the buttons feel the same as the ones in my 3btn key, the original transponder you sent had very hard buttons

i cant get the immobiliser thing to work though i must be doing that bit wrong, going read up again and try later

Hi again guys,

just tried to programe this key again. Opening of doors etc still works fine.

just cant get it to start the car!

i managed to get it to start once would you believe! no idea how but doing the method with the off and on 5 times and door 6 times as soon as i put the new key in, the sec light went off, and started the car right away!

as soon as i took it out and tried to put it back in, the light came on again and wouldnt start :(

i am getting mega frustrated with it, tried the other methods and stuff but i am baffled!

i appear to not have a THEFT ligt?

anyone help, really need this 2nd key to work :(

HI Guys,

i managed to finally get my key unlocking and locking.

still cant programe it to the start the car though!

really need to get it sorted as i need my second key

done the following method but still wont work :(

TO PROGRAMME IMMOBILIZER

Insert programmed black key into ignition switch

Within 15 seconds

1. Press and release accelerator pedal 5 times

Within 20 seconds

1. Press and release brake pedal 6 times

2. Remove black key

Within 10 seconds

Insert black key to be programmed into ignition switch

Within 10 seconds

Press and release accelerator pedal once. Immobilizer warning light will flash

After 1 minute Immobilizer warning light will extinquish.

To exit programming mode:remove ignition key and press brake pedal atleast once with 10 seconds or wait 10 seconds

any help will be massively appreciated, i have tried this now 30+ times :(

hello, it worked for me,could be you might have the wrong transponder/transmitter as another member had a similar problem-he had wrongly bought one for a LS400 which when he programmed would lock and unlock the car but wouldnt start it.Eventually he got one for the IS 200 and it worked 1st time.Hope this helps.

cheers scudney, i have 2 transponders, 1 wouldnt do a thing, the 2nd does the locks but not the starting :(

is there a way to check whether its right or wrong?

if you bought it of eBay this t++t its not going to work mate

this one worked for me after i bought anther one of eBay

this what i did worked for me on a is200 03 reg

TO LOCK CAR

open drivers side door and remove key from ignition switch

insert key to be programmed into ignition switch then remove it

Within 40 seconds

1. Press lock and unlock on the vehicle door control switch at 1 second intervals 5 times

2. Close and reopen drivers door

Within 40 seconds

1. Press lock and unlock on the vehicle door control switch at 1 second intervals 5 times

2. Insert key into ignition switch

3.Switch ignition ON and OFF once to program new key code whilst retaining the original codes or twice to program a new key code whilst erasing the original codes.

4. Remove key from ignition switch.

System should now lock and unlock car once or twice depending which mode has been selected

Within 40 seconds

1.Simultaneously press and hold key lock and unlock buttons for a maximum of 1.5 seconds.

2.Within 3 seconds press any key button for a minimum of 1 second.

System should now lock and unlock car once

Note:if system locks and unlocks car twice,progranmming procedure has not been completed.Repeat programming procedure

and get the car start
