Remote Control Question

Hi!

On my 98 MkIV Ls400 when I lock the car with the remote control 1 press (of the button) gives me one flash of the sidelights and if I then press it again the lights flash three times. Does anyone know what is the difference?

I viewed the post yesterday along with 62 other members but not having a 98 model cannot be sure I know on my 94 that the doors can be "double locked/deadlocked" and I would think yours is similar.

The reason I say this is that if you unlock the car with the remote but then don't open a door within 30 seconds the doors automatically relock but then there is a further locking sound 10 seconds after which I assume is the deadlock.

If you have the drivers handbook it should be fully explained in that.

We are not all experts in Lexus technology and merely try to help other members to the best of our ability but if no one has an answer you will not receive one,the fact that 63 members have read your post should indicate their interest in trying to help you.

Apologies - I was not in any way suggesting that anyone was not being helpful - just amazed that nobody has the answer and at the same time wanted to refresh the question. Have checked with my owners manual as well as the one on line, but no information. Thank you for your reply.

On my GS, one click of the button locks the door, a second click shortly after disables the internal movement sensors with resulting extra flashes of the indicators. Maybe it is the same one your LS?

Hi just got back from Germany last night, as sugested the second press disables the movement sensor ( very handy if you are on a ferry) ta Mark
