New Pistons And Rods

Recommended Posts

am i right in believing that there are rods and pistons from other toyota engines that fit a 1gfe engine... i'm doing a turbo install in a couple of weeks and know about the weak rods and have seen here many threads about this. can any one tell me what if so is the pistons and rods that fit the 1gfe engine and if there are any problems i should know about.

Same block, so should fit. Think they ran about the same amount of boost - 0.6bar.

really but the gte puts out 210hp think while the gze only made about 160.

anyways its still great to know. i found a gze and was thinking about pulling the rods and pistons. I have to buy the whole engine and the GZE sells for much less than a GTE. maybe it will be my project for 2k10. Of course i will have a really heavy paper weight when i'm done.
