Was changing the cambelt today and got distracted while fitting the tensioner. Basicly, I moved the tensioner before i put the belt on.

Can the tensioner be compressed back so the belt can be fitted and how is it done??? It's a new tensioner.

slacken the bolts and the tensioner should move round(you will see a allen key slot if it wont move use a allen key) so you can fit the belt.

Thanks for that M8. Always worked on 3S engines and the tensioner is sooo different on the 1G. Anyway, all sorted now and the car runs as sweet as a nut - no, sweeter than a nut B)

Power steering, alternator & A/C belts changed.

Oil & oil filter changed.

Induction filter is a performance one, washed, dried and refitted.
