Not myself, but recall one member of DW having done so, and ended up with a lot of additional scratches afterwards.

Just stick to the bar method is my advice.

I Have used it a couple of times, to be honest as i am a tart took a great deal of care and did very small patches at a time also used some water even though it says you dont need to and the car came up just fine. Also have a mate of mine who is very fussy about his car and he has used it with no problems. I have never tried a "real" clay bar so cant really compare the finish etc but i am known for being pretty fussy and i was well happy with the finish it gave
