Radio Not Working

My radio will not pick up any channels, the rest works fine but I can't get any stations manually or otherwise. The normal aerial extends fully and all the conections are good. I tried an ordinary aerial in the back of the set but it still does not work. Its a 1997 LS400 with the original radio. UK.

mine does it too, if u keep searching one way thro 2 cycles it sometimes picks up a couple more, if not just manual and store them sorry...

Do u find mw is crackly more than usual? bad earth? i can hear the crackles get louder as the engine revs higher....

And i bought a new mast and cant fit the damn thing, it should be auto but it wont go all the way down. there are no bits of lod arial snapped off in housing......its driving me nuts

When I replaced my mast, I didnt quite get the antenna back in right, so it wasnt earthed properly and the radio was useless until I fixed the earthing.

So try dropping the antenna a bit and cleaning underneath the wing, around and in the hole, and on the earth part of the antenna.

Use emery if its a bit rusty, just dont go mad.

Its only a five minute job just to clean it, even if it dont work its no big deal to do.

And doing this would probably fix the crackle and engine noise as well.
