Is200 - Navigation Motor

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I bought a V Reg (1999) IS200 and I have the SatNav with it. I noticed that it had the green haze and started going red and purple at times. The helpful people on this forum mentioned the ribbon cable. I did open it and sprayed PCB cleaner and reseated the cable. I did though dismantle everything but it didn't look very difficoult.

When I put it together though I had the problems. The screen is now perfect but the buttons for Open/Close and Tilt do not work properly. The screen goes only one way (down) and doesn't tilt up. When it tilts is also does at funny angles. I thought maybe I haven't aligned it properly and might have manually moved the screen so I dismantled it, connected it without having plugged in the cog wheels so to make sure that it goes to the down position. When mounted together still the same.

Anybody has any ideas or has had something similar in the past? 1 week in the ownership and already breaking stuff in the car :msn-cry:

Nik
