J.d. Power Survey 2009 In The Uk (july What Car)

Recommended Posts

Check out page 144 of July's What Car magazine for the best compact executive - can you guess? Hint: it's not the 3-series!

Check out page 153 for best manufacturer - hint: it's the same one as last year and the last and the last ad infinitum...!

Very interesting article. Well done to Lexus and well deserved overall.

What is even more interesting is that the top 5 cars are within 2.5% or so of each other, so there are very few differences actually.

Having allowed my knee to recover, I drove my Beemer for the first time in 6 weeks around the block. My girl friend has had it all to herself for all of those times. It still brings a big smile to my face, but the dealers are so so so bad! That is here I miss the Lexus the most and I think why it always scores so highly in Customer Satisfaction.

Example:

My IS220d - one or 2 recalls - everytime washed, filled with fuel, wine etc and returned looking like new. Servicing - always the same care and attention to details. Dealrs always have time for me.

BMW - been back once for accident repair and my beemer garage has a body shop. Car came back dirty except repaired bit, they wanted to charge me for a proper hand wash (mechanical wash was free) and I complained. They looked at me as if I owed them something and I should be grateful.

Overall would I buy a Lexus again?

YES

But not the IS220d. It is not a proper Lexus. A Lexus has to be a smooth petrol Auto. That what I think. And that is where Lexus and Mercedes make the best cars. May be I'm getting old. In the Beemer everyone wants to cut me up. Not so in Lexus.
