Ignition Led Help Please

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I am in process of changing the dash LED's.

Have done the dials no probs what so ever.

Look sweet!! :)

Now trying to change the ignition LED.

Believe I have the correct LED, although it may need sanding to fit.

But i can't get the old one out

Have taken the wire/cable out of the car and tried to pull the LED with a pair of long nosed pliers. But guess I clamped it too hard and the bulb shattered everywhere.

I just cannot see how you take the bulb out of the holder.

There are the 2 wires in the back of the holder, but they dont seem to want to pull out & I can't seem to push them through either.

Can anybody offer some advice.

Here is a couple of pics

Was it a bulb or an LED ? You said LED but then you said it shattered, making it sound like a bulb. If it's the original bulb then it's probably been in there for ages and needs a really good pull to get it out. You should be able to get some pliers on the casing now that the bulb has shattered.

Sorry for the confusion, it was a wedge type LED, with a bulb type glass covering.

Have given it a good yank and managed to pull it out now.

Thanks for the help though!!

Just doing the climate control LED's now.

Cant wait to get 'em all sorted :D
