I don't understand, but I'm probably missing something :duh: :iraqi-info-minister:

Why would a lighter flywheel affect going up hills ? If it's lighter then doesn't that mean there is less inertia to overcome to get things going, which if anything would make it easier to do a hill start ? (I presume we're talking about hill starts here, I can't see why it would be worse when already going along, up a hill).

As I say, I'm probably missing something though.

Well I dont know either are you gonna feel any difference, but there is a theory that heavier flywheel stores more energy for compression stroke.

I am going to fit lightweight flywheel because my clutch is on its way out, and I wanna get rid off the dual-mass stock one.

Yeah I had a feeling it was a used Lexus one that Dan used, thanks Ormi, I just couldn't remember for sure. I wonder if a brand new Lexus one would have been fine. But then of course that would have been *very* expensive (I wouldn't have gone down that route either).

It's funny as I don't seem to have experienced this "flywheel judder" :whistling:

Doesn't seem to happen anywhere near as much now i have the charger - not sure if its the decreased torque right at the bottom or the increased torque further up.

Ed

edit: - think i've missed a joke here
