Aerial On Gs300 Kaputt

my 97 gs300 sport electric aerial is broken........the motor still works but the aerial it self refuses to come up

if i rplace it#

will an aftermarket aerial fit ok or do i need to get a lexus specific one

Just buy a new mast mate. You can find them on eBay in the UK and in the United States. Not sure how the prices compare these days but when I got mine it was cheaper to buy two masts from the US than one from the UK, but exchange rates are not so good now. I did a tutorial on stripping the unit down to remove the cord if it has snapped. See here Clicky

After market ones will fit, but the factory one adjusts the length based on the frequency you are tuned to. Recpetion is improved because of it. This function is lost if you change for a non-factory unit or if you swap out the head unit for a non factory unit.
