I got some mintex pads and some no name discs of eBay..anyway the hub part of the discs started rusting to hell. Looked awful on the rears as the hub is quite wide and visible and as the weeks went on I was drawn towards the acres of rust that were appearing.

Im not the only one it appears..amazing how many IS200'S there are with same Issue..simply cosmetic I know.

Ive just painted them with hammerite silver smooth and all is now sorted but I could have done without the bother to be honest. :shifty:

Hi - Other than the rusting problem how are the discs working? My IS300 is in need of some front discs and the price of the discs is appealing but I'm a bit concenred as to their reliability/ operation....

Cheers

the discs / pads are working fine. Just been to Gatwick and back with 5 on board plus a roofbox and braking was as good as ever. Just didnt like the rust effect. I had a new Mazda6 a few years ago and they rusted from new, just looks naff.

Yeah, all discs do unless its been treated (which costs a bit more). I'm in need of rear discs and im sticking to 3G, but this time i will spray them with hammerite silver before fitting.
