Auxillary Belts...to Change Or To Not Change?

Recommended Posts

How old are the belts? Whats the mileage on the car?

Check the belts- if they are cracked then get them replaced, if not then leave them.

If you have extra £££, then get them replaced whatever the condition of the belts are (good or bad). The aux belts are not expensive from Lexus.

I replaced all my aux belts at 100k.

In that case, I'd change all the aux belts with the timing belt (idler and tensioner).

As the car has been off the road for so long, I'd also get a full service done aswell (oil/filters/plugs/coolant etc)

A full service will be getting done anyway along with timing belt and idler and tensioner being changed. Just needed to know really if I should get the other belts done at the same time as they all have to come off anyway in order to change the timing belt.
