We need some more, we have run out here :crybaby:

I live in the country 4 miles from a major road and I had the best drive to work yesturday, I never drive with TRC or SNOW on, all I got is my Nokian WR winter tyres which are into there 3rd season, I didnt have any real issues on the way to work, ok i went up a hill a little sideways but thats about it, so long as your prepared its gonna take longer enjoy it,

my work journey normally takes 20mins, yesturday it took 45mins.

My Lex is an IS200 Sport so i got the LSD also its lowered, what suspension is better for snow conditions? Standard softer or lower stiffer? I know lower can be bad for getting bogged down in deeper areas.

I think i wanna move to Sweden :D

I preferred the stiffer suspension as you got more feedback from the car, ie when it was starting to lose grip, whereas on standard suspension you never got the feedback so you'd be taken by surprise more when it finally does let go.

Saying that when I was tinkering with the suspension settings on the coilovers I noticed that the backend would step out much easier when it was set to harder damping than when it was at a softer setting.

On the standard suspension you'd really have to give it some to light up the tyres but on the coilovers it seems much easier - but again I guess the tyres are now a year old so could just literally be that I was giving it more hammer and the tyres had less tread anyways!

Now your discovering the joys of handling....when we used to race FF the roll bars were the easiest and fastest way to make minor adjustments in practice......stiffen the front for understeer, stiffen the back for oversteer and visa-versa.....obviously you had a basic spring/damper setting for various tracks and conditions but the anti-roll bars were the immediate answer to "feels a bit nosey" or "tail ends *******"

I still prescribe to Graham Chapmans logic of supple springs and well controlled damping....thats when you feel every nuance of the road.....too much "stiff as a board is better" today I reckon.....but then thats just me....and I'm an old fart!

Best regards David
