External Transistor For Heater Motor Fan

Recommended Posts

I have a 1994 LS 400 that the climate control does not work. It does not shut down the fan motor when it reaches the desired temperature.

The fan motor does not shut off completely even when you depress the OFF button. The only way that I can regulate the heat is to manually toggle the temperature setting then shut it off, so I am continually changing from heat to cold settings.

The climate control cluster was replaced with a rebuilt unit. It did not solve the problem.

The gentleman that rebuilt the climate control cluster unit said that he had read about an external transistor that may be the problem.

Has anyone got a suggestion for my problem?

Thanks,

rexw

Also look at 'room temp. sensor', ..there is a little grille for this on the lower fascia [near your left knee]

This checks the temp. and adjusts the system accordingly, apparently this must be clean.[As well as not faulty!]

If you cannot switch the blower off at all, suggest the relay for the heater is stuck 'on'.........guessing...

as is 'before' the transistor for the aircon.

if you fix it please give update so we all learn!!
