Toyota Touch Up Sets

I just picked up one of the touch up sets and these have changed a bit from last time I've used them!

Just wanted to confirm I'm understanding the process really - step 12 I'm unsure of.

This is how I'm reading it:

1: Only use the basecoat between temps of 5-35C

2. Wash the area to be painted before application

3. Apply excess basecoat to leave paint on and around the chip

4. Leave for 10 minutes

5. Rinse the applicator pad on the top of the base coat pen

6. Rub the newly painted area with the applicator pad to soak up any excess paint and ensure an even finish

7. Wash the applicator pad on the top of the base coat pen until clean

8. Leave for 10 minutes

9. Only use the clearcoat between 5-35C

10. Apply clearcoat onto newly painted area

11. Leave for 20 minutes

Now this is where I don't quite get it - step 12 I'm guessing indicates wipe away excess clearcoat but not sure what with or whether it should be immediately after step 11 or after 48 hours. I'm guessing you should wipe away the excess after 20 mins and it's saying it takes 48 hours to fully cure? It could also maybe be saying polish it - problem is the diagram just looks like it's something you've sneezed onto the car :o

Any ideas please as I don't want to mess it up

12.

When you are finished mate it will still look like a blob of paint on your car.

Just like them Chips Away guys would do.

Just get it sprayed by a pro.

But saying that I've never used one myself

That is on the plan to be fair mate, need to get the whole bonnet sprayed as it's got a funny mark on it where the previous owner has touched something up and looks like the paint has reacted!

Just saving it for now mate as want to see how it polishes up - if I'm not happy with it may get the lot resprayed at some point - just having a good think what to do :)
