How Do I Change The Aerial On Is200

Recommended Posts

It looks like you need to get underneath the interior headlining, according to the manual. That seems to show removing a large part of the interior of the car, but I can't believe that as much as that is necessary.

I hope not!! If I do try I will take some photos!!

Whole thing needs changing as the DAB/phone and normal FM signals run off different cables, nothing is ever easy!!

Yep that's what I meant, to remove the OEM antenna, I thought you just grab the base of it and unscrew it?

Obviously you'll have to run your new cables through the roof lining, so will involve some work :)

I've never tried taking the whole thing off. But the relevant sections of the manual are here and here. They make it look like there are two nuts that need removing from underneath the headlining.

Thanks for the guide. It looks like if the head lining can be removed enough to get to the bottom of the aerial and then at the front of the car it is just a case of running new cables above the headlining. Maybe using a "ferret" tool to guide the cables through to the head unit, that’s fairly easy!! I will have a real geed look on Sunday.......... and let you know.
