Helix organic clutch is excellent and should be more than what you need for the s/c

thanks for ur input matey. in what way do u mean its excellent?? just trying to get a feel for whats out there and cost etc....

It can easily handle the power of the s/c and more. Also it feels OEM if not better, plus not expensive. If your staying with the s/c and maybe adding a few hp onto that then you wont find much better than the Helix organic clutch.

Only reason I changed to a cerametalic clutch was because I burnt the organic one abusing launch control.

LOL as i'm doing at the moment cause im getting the new one in Monday.

Mine?

Yeah it did, but just needs running in now.

It will be run in by Friday at about 12 :winky:

But seriously how long dose it take to run in mate??

Will it be OEM fealing Stav or a bit juddery or smooooooth.

It should be considering the mileage itll have.

Ment to be OEM but bit juddery at the moment but we'll see when its worn in.

Interesting thread to keep tabs on Rob. Im likely to go down the same route as you. Just no sure on cost and benefits of various bits and pieces.

Whats a lightened fly wheel cost?

noticed today my cluth is slipping so thinking to upgrade to performance one but depends on how much it would set me back.

Get a helix one, good for a reasonable upgrade, otherwise Exedy, Spec, are good for the bigger upgrade.

thanks stav but i might be turbo charging the car in near future or supercharging it so should i just go for the exedy

Depends really.

Is there a Exedy uprated clutch? whats it rated to?

The four paddle will IMHO be too harsh for day to day driving.

See what other people are running maybe? I've got the SPEC stage II, but not had it long so dont want to say too much about it yet till its taken some real abuse.

Dont know about Dave, Adie, Fever, etc.

Just seen a Exedy clutch on eBay. I've asked him what the clutch is good for. See what he says. Can another stock clutch be fitted with a Supercharger? Or would it just not last that long?

I had a Blueprint one from Dave fitted to my car at Charlesworth when I had the SC still on there, was no issues at all with that, it ran fine for the remaining time I had the charger and also a long time after when I'd gotten rid of the supercharger!

I have the Helix organic clutch....works perfectly, very little difference to standard feel either! I would highly recommend that you run a new clutch in properly!! I wouldn't attempt any heavy loaded pull-aways or high rev/redline gear changes for at least 300 miles...drive smooth and sensibly for that time and then up the power on pull-aways gradually for a few days.

If you are going to fit a lightened flywheel, I would do it when/if you have a new clutch fitted, since you have to remove one to fit the other....saves on labour costs in the future obviously!

i have a choice of buying the helix or exedy clutch both organic what is the big difference

thanks people
